CAAC Presentation Night - Season 2006 - 2007

The winners received their prizes at a recent night out for all of the athletes. Dave Eyers welcomed Franky Farquhar and thanked her for presenting the prizes. Franky has represented her country at track and cross country running as far afield as Poland where she competed in the 5,000m at the Masters Championships. She also competed in the British Cross Country Championships where the Scottish team took silver team medal.

The only other shield to be presented that night was the Jimmy Cassells Memorial Shield which is presented annually to an athlete for their attitude and dedication to cross country running. This year the shield was given to a group of athletes who showed just that commitment in competing in all of the north fixtures. Sisters Shannon and Leanne and dad Dave showed just the type of determination and commitment that the coaches are keen to promote within the sport and were well deserved winners.

Athletics now turns its sights on the track and field season with the first fixture being an Open Grade Meeting at Inverness on the 8th April where athletes in the Under 13 age group and above can select from a programme of events to get a run out on the track before the newly named Petrofrac League starts in earnest of the 29th April.
