

Scottish Young Athletes League 1 - 04/05/2008
On the 4th May, 7 athletes from Caithness Amateur Athletic Club competed in the first ever North East Division of the Scottish Young Athletes League as part of the Highland team. The athletes are picked to represent the HIPPO team based on their performances in the performances in 2008 and summer 2007 and indoors 2007/8.
Even though the weather was less than desirable the athletes performed their best. Two of the athletes did exceptionally well, one of which is Andrew Raeburn who ran a very good 400m races in a time of 51.5s which gained him a new personal best and the title of HIPPO man of the match, and the other athlete that did well was Ian Mackay who jumped a new personal best in his long jump of 3.69m and ran 12.3s for his 75m, Ian was then named HIPPO Olympian which means he gained the most points out of the other boy competitors.

The Under 11 Boys relay team came first in the 4x100m relay with a time of 64.5s.
