North District Cross Country, Forres - 23/01/2010

Meanwhile, Caithness AAC were competing in the previously postponed Forres North District Cross Country fixture.

A late change of course due to the icy conditions that remained underfoot saw the athletes tackling the normal clockwise hilly course at Grant Park, in an anti-clockwise direction.

Strong performances of the day came from athletes across a range of age groups.

In the Under 11 Girls, Gabrielle MacGregor and Rhiannon Kirk finished 2nd and 3rd respectively and Oonagh Dunnett in the Under 15 Girls took this one place better to win the combined race with the Under 17 Women convincingly.

Rob Murdoch finished 4th in the Under 15 Boys demonstrating an improving endurance aptitude in what is one of the north's strongest age groups.

Sarah McKinnon meanwhile clocked up her 2nd North District placing by finishing 3rd in the Under 17 Women's race.
