CAAC - Wick to Thurso Charity Sponsored Relay - 26/09/10
Generous spirits kept up the athletic ambitions recently, as around a hundred people ran along a stretch of road between Wick and Thurso to raise a record-breaking sum of money for two charities.
The annual Caithness Amateur Athletic Club Wick to Thurso charity road relay attracted 15 teams on Sunday, September 26th, raising £9200 amongst them to be split between the North Highland Cancer Information and Support Centre and the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society.

Secretary of the Caithness Amatuer Athletic Club David Eyers said it was a great success.
'The weather was perfect and all the teams enjoyed the day; £9200 was raised for the local charities, which is a record and a credit to all the teams involved' said Mr Eyers.
'As with any event like this, it would not happen without support from a range of people and we are very grateful to everyone involved'.
The teams set of at 10am from the co-op in Wick, taking the 20 mile journey along the A882 in stages, with the teams coming together for the final mile to the Park Hotel in Thurso.
