Knockout Cup - Season 2001-2002
Final
Halkirk (+45) v Miller 'A'
A neutral venue was unavailable to play the the Final of the Knockout Cup - so, after the toss of a coin between the two clubs, Halkirk managed to secure the home advantage.
Miller appeared in 'eBIG'H' riddled with county players and the task for Halkirk was always going to be tough. But, after some excellent battling by the Halkirk youngsters, amassing a substantial amount of points in their matches, hopes of clinching the title from the favourites looked good.
Eventually, it came
down to the final match between Raz & Daz and Eric & the Stallion.
With Halkirk 9 points down and having to go for everything, it was always going to be
tough - but, after winning the first 15-5 - there was a definite sign of excitement coming
from the gallery. The tables were completely turned in the second, allowing little
Eric to jump for joy, like the little kiddie from 'Renta-ghost'.
Well done, Miller.....

Semi-Final
Halkirk (+100) v Wick
The new CBA champions came to 'eBIG'H' with a mission to secure the double, in an already excellent season. This was not to be..... The village side pulled together and, possibly, pulled off there best performance of the season (a bit late) to place themselves in the final against a strong Miller team.
Miller 'A' v Dunbeath (+120)
Dunbeath found it difficult to acclimatise to the high roof of the games hall and experience of the vibrant Miller team. They held a 120 point lead but never really came close to achieving their final goal, placing Miller in the final of the cup.
1st Round
Because there are 6 teams in the County League, Halkirk and Dunbeath have received a bye, to the next round.
Castletown (+20) v Miller 'A'
Castletown were nearly placing 'WANTED' posters on the streets of the county, looking for the Handicap adjudicators - after hearing they were only to receive a 20 point start, over Miller. But, the end result showed that it was always going to be a close contest, and Miller only just sneaked through by 20 points.
Dunnet (+80) v Wick
Dunnet had the opportunity to progress to the next round with an 80 point lead and their own 'joker card' - the low roof. This did not seem to bother Wick in any shape or form and they moved into the semi-final with ease.
