Shetland Inter-County - 13/04/02 - Season 2001-2002

A strong Shetland team travelled a long distance to 'put-one-on' the Caithness county team. Although the score looks like a trouncing, it could easily have finished 7-5, with some close games.
Namely, the game between Sam & Pam and 'e Keith twin and 'e lassie Henderson. It went right down to the wire in the third set, with some excellent rallies and tight net shots. But, the Shetland duo held there nerve, being 13-10 down to win 15-13.
Sam has asked me to take this opportunity and thank Joan Elder and Pam's mum, for their constant loyal support, during the match - which kept them both going.

There were some new faces on this trip with Shetland, both male and female, and they came for the 'Four-S's' - Shopping, Sport, Shandies & Shenanigans. As far as I know, they had a good time and managed at least three out of the four.

I would like to thank the young lad Jason for introducing me to a wonderful drink called, 'Vimto'. A mixture of Port and Blue Vodka Wicked, served in a pint glass, and funnily enough it tastes like Vimto. On waking up in the morning I found that he had also introduced, 'Armitage Shanks' to this new drink - leaving a lovely 'pebbled-ash' affect round the rim. This was the lads first trip over and he wanted to make the most of it and, after his podium dancing in 'Skinandis Nightclub' - I can exclusively reveal that the owner of the nightclub is on the hunt, to find, and sign him up for large amounts of money and perform some AC/DC style dances. Watch out for further developments.....
The other kiddie who was staying with me, Colin - was kind enough to leave some crumpled up 'doritos' in his bed...... Not sure how they managed to get there but I'm sure there are some arms and legs 'til his story.

Anyway, an excellent weekend was had by all and hopefully this fixture will keep being played for the foreseeable future. All the best and take care.
