New Winners of Trophy??? - 15/11/03

A small number of competitors descended into Thurso High School Games Hall for this years American Tournament.

A notable exclusion from the competition was former and, long time winner of this trophy, Carole Mowat - who decided to sit on the sidelines and organise the pairings. After a short interview - the Ladies number one decided to keep her reasoning on why she did not enter, to herself and could only produce a "NO COMMENT", to 'eBIGH reporter.

Anyway, after a hard fought day it came down to the comeback girls - namely, Lyndsey Calder and 'once a year injury girl' Casey Sangster - to help produce a fine final.

Casey was partnered by Sandy Sutherland of Dunnet, who provided ample support for the County 'A' Team girl - but it was, the possibly stronger pairing of Ian and Lyndsey, who produced the goods on the day to just sneak a win by one point, 15-14.

Congratulations to everyone who turned up on the day and hopefully there will be a larger entry, the next time around.
