Caithness with lots to do in return leg - 04/12/04 (Away)

The 'A' Team put in a good performance and have a good chance to reverse the 7-5 scoreline. Wins from Mark Mackay & James Henderson and Sam Campbell & John Durrand in the mens doubles started things rolling and this was followed with triumphs in the mixed from Mark & Jill Turner, James & Carole Mowat and Davie 'watch that lines' Nicolson & Pam Mackay. Well done to Johnnie Durrand for putting in excellent performances after just coming back from a serious injury.

Although, this is a good score for an away leg, Caithness should not feel too comfortable, as Orkney will not want to lose this trophy, will provide a strong side and push for every point.

The 'B' Team went down 9-3 with the juniors securing all the points in this tussle. A few of the games went to a pretty close finish but the selectors are going to have to come together, with a no messing attitude and pull out all the stops - if they are to get anywhere near lifting this trophy.

Thanks to Orkney for their hospitality and look forward to seeing them all in February.

Oh aye, it is well known girls fall for me on the away trips but this one took the biscuit. One of our female girlies had a wee accident on leaving the hotel by falling down the stairs and landing at my feet. Fortunately, she has a 'juicy doc' that provided some excellent, 'bouncebackability', no injuries were received and everything was fine for her return trip on the boat.
