Shetland Inter-County - Season 2004-2005 - 01/04/05

The Caithness side arrived in Shetland and knew they would have a tough Inter-County match against a Shetland side who have been training rigorously for the up-and-coming Shetland Island Games.

Wins for Mark Mackay & James Henderson, Sam Campbell & John Durrand and youngsters Benji Mackay & Kirsty Grant helped to make the last few matches exciting and allow the Caithness team with a glimpse of hope.

With this in mind the final score didn't reflect how close the result was at the end, with Shetland winning 9-3.
Pam Bain managed to have close matches with her partners, Kirsty Grant - just losing in two tight games and Davie Nicolson, Mixed Doubles - going to the third set and last couple of points. Sam Campbell and Casey Sangsters' fortunes were similar to Pam and Davie's and could've gone in any direction.

Congratulations to Shetland and I'm sure everyone on this side of the water wishes the teams, clubs and communities all the best for the Island Games.
