Highland Restricted Tournament - Season 2007-2008 - 16 & 17/02/08

Players from the county returned with two titles and two runners-up shields from the third Highland Badminton Group Event in Dingwall.

Johnnie Durrand, Wick started off his campaign for trophies in the Mens Singles and shrugged off the talents of Neil Anderson, Forres in the semi-finals - before disposing of 16 year old young pretender, Owen Turner in a three set match of tight rallies.

John and partner, Highland Number 1, Sam Campbell went onto lift the Mens' Doubles title against Forres pairing, Neil Anderson and Graeme Spring.

The young Wicker was partnered by Carole Mowat, in the Mixed Doubles and had high hopes of lifting the title, as they were announced as being the number one seedings.  But, ex-Shetland player, Suzanne Henderson and her partner, Dan Horrigan - who has played at a high standard in 'that England' - thwarted the hopes of the local pairing by 'nipping' through 2 sets to 1.

Experienced partnership, Casey Sangster and Carole Mowat played their way to the final of the Ladies Doubles but just lost out to Suzanne Henderson and Julie Anderson in three sets.

The Ladies Singles was won by debutant, Nicola MacGuigan, Kinloss against Julie Anderson by 2 sets to 0.
