Big Sam Campbell managed to reach the Quarter Finals of the World Senior Badminton Championships in Canada.

After getting through the first couple of rounds, he came up against the World Number 2 for his age group and after a tough first set his rival pulled away to move onto the next round.

Good effort Big Man and I'm sure you put the fear in them.

With an already blistering season of achievements, locally and nationally, Sam Campbell, Wick has now been selected to perform at the World Senior Masters' Badminton championships in Canada.

Becoming the 2011 Over 55 Scottish Masters & Nationals, Mens Singles' champion was very much the turning point for the Scottish selectors to take notice.

But, this accolade has been brought on by his own drive, skill, determination and continuing love of the sport - which he passes on to youngsters of his club and county.

After being asked how he felt about going to Canada, the man of many words responded, '...delighted'.

Everyone from Caithness Badminton wishes Sam all the best to continue his achievements.
