Halkirk FC Over 35's 2 - 3 Thurso Comm Over 35's

Two Over 35 sides, Halkirk FC v Thurso Comm, gathered in Recreation Park, Halkirk to compete for the Annual Ronald 'Biz' Mackenzie Memorial trophy in wet conditions but both sides put in good performances.

After 90 minutes and some tired legs, it was the Thurso side who lifted the trophy by 3 goals to 2.

With both goalkeepers in top form on a number of occasions to pull off some excellent saves to keep their sides in the game, it took two excellent goals from Graeme Mackay, Halkirk and a goal each from Robbie Mackintosh and David MacGregor, Thurso - leaving the final 10 minutes looking like this match would be going into extra time. But, after a slack pass back, a skirmish in the box followed with Graeme Potter, Thurso being in the right place at the right time to slot home the winning goal.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and look forward to next seasons encounter.
