Halkirk FC - Reports, Results & Photos - Season 2010-2011

League Division 1 - 12/08/10
Halkirk 4 - 0 Keiss

A vital 3 points for the Wildcat's with a victory that was even more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.

The result was never really in doubt from the moment Charlie gave us an early lead with a fine left-footed finish following some tricky footwork that saw him skip past a couple of challenges.

We went on to enjoy the majority of possession for the remainder of the first half but failed to create any real clear cut openings and at only 1-0, the visitors were always in it and threatened Pies a couple of times as the half wore on but he dealt with everything comfortably.

Half Time 1 - 0

We made a bright positive start to the second 45 and doubled our lead pretty early into the half.

We needed a penalty to do it though after a defender was penalised for handball whilst trying to clear a bouncing ball following a corner kick. Charlie stepped up and made no mistake with the Nelson to make it 2-0.

It was then going to be a case of how many we would score as this deflated Keiss and we were attacking them at will.

We were only able to score a further two though. Muttley was first to get on the scoresheet with a fine goal that was well deserved following another fine display from him and then Rusty completed the scoring when he tapped in a loose ball following a great run by Mikey.

Sas then blew a great opportunity to get a goal as he was unable to direct a header on target from about 6 yards and this was quickly followed by Gavin B trying his luck with a header but it surely came off the wrong corner as it went nearer the new pitch that they've only just started the groundwork for, rather than where he was aiming!!

A good solid performance and a vital three points in our quest to avoid the Relegation Play-Off place.

Although it wasn't the strongest of opposition, we still played some good football at times and thoroughly deserved the win, which will hopefully be enough to keep us out of trouble.

Go Wildcat's!!
