A disappointing defeat to the Quarrymen as a sluggish start cost us.

We fell two down quite early in the game and this left us with just too much to do to get back into it.

We did manage to get one goal back before half time when a neat pass from Butch played in Mikey and he scored with a composed finish.

The second half was a pretty even contest as the visitors seemed content to sit in, soak up the pressure and try and hit us on the break, which is exactly what they did.

About twenty minutes from time, they scored with a deflected shot which knocked the stuffing out of us and put the result beyond any doubt.

Coming on the back of a great performance in JOG, this was a hugely disappointing defeat as this is the one competition that we always want to do well in at the start of the season but unfortunately our slow start cost us.

We need to get it out the system quickly though as it's Highland Cup duty next up.
