Halkirk 1 - 8 Pentland United

We suffered a heavy home defeat against the Stabs as they quite frankly gave us a footballing lesson.

Their first half performance was one of the finest I've witnessed and we went in at the break 5-0 down and that was with Pies saving a penalty as well.

They seemed to play within themselves for the second half and it was a much more even contest but they were still able to score a further three goals before we grabbed a late consolation with the goal of the game from Mikey, who netted a fine 30 yard free-kick.

A bad night at the office for all concerned, really and the combination of our poor performance and their excellent one led to us suffering a heavy defeat.

We just need to try and learn from it and hope to play football something similar to what Pentland United produced as it really was great to watch at times. We'll hopefully get back to winning ways in our next game against Swifts at the Dammies.
