Highland Amateur Cup Round 2 - 28/05/11
Halkirk 4 - 2 Thurso Pentland (Halkirk win after extra time)

We progress to the next round of the Highland Amateur Cup but were made to work all the way by a spirited young Pentlands side who played some good football on the day.

They had the benefit of a strong wind behind them in the first half and used this to their advantage to go in at the break 2-0 up.

We needed an early goal in the second half and that's exactly what happened thanks to a fine finish from Rusty.

It then seemed that it would only be a matter of time before we got the equaliser but it wasn't until almost ten minutes from time that we grabbed a leveller when Kitten fired home form the edge of the box.

We were now the dominant side but were unable to snatch a winner and had to play extra time.

We were against the wind in the first period but coped much better than what we did in regulation and took the lead thanks to a composed penalty kick by Charlie after Gunny had been fouled in the box.

Rusty ensured our name is in the hat for the next round when he tapped home from close range after a wonderful run and pass by Huna set him up.

A fair struggle to win the game but we showed some great battling qualities from half time onwards and were deserved winners in the end.
