At the half way stage the cut sees only 18 left in the scratch section of the Strokeplay Trophy. The top of the Leader board is occupied by Gavin Sutherland with two consistent rounds of 73 for a total of 146. This is very fine golf indeed. On 147 with rounds of 70 and 77 lies James Henderson and in third spot with rounds of 73 and 75 hovering nicely is Raymond Taylor. There is still a lot to play for with two rounds to go and any number of players still in contention. Will the young whippersnapper Sutherland maintain his position or will the experience of Taylor and Henderson count over the 4 rounds or will Colin Paterson come out of the chasing pack.

In the Handicap section for the Keoltag Salver we have a clear leader with two rounds of 65 for a total of 130 in Bruce Mackay. On his heels is another seasoned veteran in Evan Sutherland 65,68 - 133 and currently lying third is Les Patrick 64,70 - 134. Sandy Chisholm, Andy Bain and Gavin Sutherland are within two shots and the rest of the field is bunched up and anybody can jump out if the pack with a score.

Both competitions have strong leaders but both have a chasing pack. Round three is played on Tuesday and the Final Round the following Tuesday so there is all to play for.
