The High Handicap trophy for golfers with a nineteen plus handicap saw the season underway. The competitors found the going tough with the CSS score at 72 and only two birdies. It was no surprise to find the 17th was the hardest hole followed by the 2nd. The easiest hole was the short par three 15th.
Birdies came for John Disbury at the 7th which is widely recognised as the hardest hole, so an excellent birdie. The second birdie came from David Mackay at the 6th hole. In third place with figures of 100-27-73 was the young man from the west Iain Mackintosh who is in good form and should see his handicap dropping before too long.
Runner up was Callum Mackenzie earning a cut in his handicap returning 92-21-71. The winner picking up the first trophy of the season was Willie Young with the lowest gross of 91 and the only man to break par. Willie had a well deserved victory carding 91-23-68 and also earns a reduction in his handicap.
