Willie wins first Trophy of season

The High Handicap trophy for golfers with a nineteen plus handicap saw the season underway. The competitors found the going tough with the CSS score at 72 and only two birdies. It was no surprise to find the 17^th was the hardest hole followed by the 2^nd. The easiest hole was the short par three 15^th.

Birdies came for John Disbury at the 7^th which is widely recognised as the hardest hole, so an excellent birdie. The second birdie came from David Mackay at the 6^th hole. In third place with figures of 100-27-73 was the young man from the west Iain Mackintosh who is in good form and should see his handicap dropping before too long.

Runner up was Callum Mackenzie earning a cut in his handicap returning 92-21-71. The winner picking up the first trophy of the season was Willie Young with the lowest gross of 91 and the only man to break par. Willie had a well deserved victory carding 91-23-68 and also earns a reduction in his handicap.
