Snapper gets his second trophy

This format is a bit different in that it is match play against the par of the course and a bad hole is simply a lost hole. The CSS was 68 as scoring was good with 14 birdies and the second hole once again proving to be the most troublesome and claiming most scalps. The 12th strangely was the easiest par.
David Dunbar was in outstanding form on the greens and found them very much to his liking as he rolled in no less than four birdie putts. Birdies came for David at the 3rd, 5th, 13th and the 14th as he finished 1 down on the day. George Prince had a birdie at the 12th to celebrate his last gasp entry into the Senior Club Championships as Andy Mackay was deemed to be a slip of a lad and too young for the Senior Section.
Bill McIntosh made a fine birdie two at the 15th holing a lengthy putt and finished up all square with the course as did Colin Stewart. Third place had to be sorted out on countback as Ian Sutherland and Evan Sutherland both tied 2 up with John Nicolson. Ian Sutherland got the nod for third despite three fine birdies for Evan Sutherland at the 6th, 13th and the 15th but Evan could not contain his delight at getting back to a single figure handicap. John Nicolson was fifth with a birdie at the 6th hole.
James Henderson made birdie at the 6th and the 13th in a pretty flawless round to secure second place with a very good score of 3 up equating to a nett 66. With birdies at the 12th and the 17th never an easy hole David Mackay (Snapper) brought home the best round of the day finishing an outstanding 4 up to collect his second trophy of the season having already captured the Sandside Trophy.
