The Reay Medal attracted a good field producing 13 birdies and a CSS of 68. The second played the hardest and indeed the hardest holes were on the front nine apart from the sixth which was the easiest par.
In division two Ian Mackintosh in good form recently had a grandstand finish with a birdie two in his round of 98-25-73 and fourth place. In third with a birdie two at the 15th was the dependable Danny O'Hagan hitting every fairway and carding 89-16-73. Bill McIntosh with 88-18-70 and still unable to lose the double bogeys took second place and a brace of birdies with a two at the 9th and a further birdie at the 14th. Ian Ross had one of those rounds where it all goes right making the lowest gross in 80-14-66 to take first place and just miss out on winning the medal by one shot. Alex Mackay was unable to make any impression in the defence of his trophy.
Don Mackay (Snr) strangely out of form recently seems to be getting back in the groove and taming the par 5's with birdies at the 6th and the 14th. Bruce Mackay was also able to make birdie at the 14th whilst Donald Mowat birdied the 6th. Alistair Gunn was the best of a bunch on nett 71 and a birdie at the 10th. John O'Brien with a birdie at the 6th was just out of the sweep money.
The sixth was popular for birdies as Gavin Gunn made a birdie four and finished 80-10-70 to end up fourth in division one. Having an excellent round Peter McCartney made 80-12-68 with a birdie at the 17th for a one under nett 68 and making third place his own. David Dunbar again made the best scratch score of 72 for an outstanding 72-6-66 dropping in two birdies at the 3rd and the 14th and claiming second spot. Ian Ritchie picked up his first trophy of the season with a remarkable score of 74-9-65 proving experience counts when grinding out a winning score.
