Ross wins with WW2 score

Stanley Ross provided an excellent World War 2 round of - out in 39 and back in 45 - giving him a nett 59 to win by two shots from a back in form Frazer Sparling, who came home in level par including birdies at the 13th and 14th holes.

Sparling's round earned him first place in Category 1 by three shots from Peter O'Hare and by five from Pat Valentine.

Sanders Sinclair, with a fine nett 62, was second in category 2 and Colin Cameron came third with a nett 67.

Dougie Thorburn's one over par 70 earned him the scratch award by a couple of shots from Alan Swanson.
