Summer Cup Round 10 - 04 July 06
John leads the way with 6 to go

Round 10 of the summer cup was a low key affair with competition from the World Cup and a very unpleasant wind blowing. Nevertheless those that did play produced 9 birdies and a CSS of 69. The hardest hole was the 7th and the 15th was again the easiest par.

George McDonald made a nice birdie at the second after a booming drive and a very good second shot to ten feet. George took third in Division Two with 97-22-75 losing out to Bill McIntosh with 91-16-75 who took second on the countback. Making his mark in difficult conditions with the best gross of 86 was Colin Struthers 86-20-66 with an excellent effort to win the Division.

In Division one Lee Parnell produced two birdies at the 6th and the 15th with 78-4-74 and was one of three tied on a gross of 78. Ian Ritchie with his customary birdie at the 5th took third spot with 78-8-70 and Donald Mowat played a tidy round for second place with a 78-9-69 and nice par figures. John O'Brien 73-5-68 had the best gross score of the day and was the comfortable winner of Division One.

With six rounds to go John O'Brien has opened up a comfortable lead of 9 shots with an aggregate 337 over Bruce Mackay who is second on 346. Third is shared by David Mackay and Cammie Ross on 349 but a lot can happen over the next six rounds especially if the weather improves on Tuesdays and there will be no World Cup Football as a distraction from real business.
