Summer Cup Round 4 - 23 May 06
O'Brien Brothers romp home in Div 1 & 2

The stats showed a total of 10 birdies with the 7th playing the hardest and the 5th playing the easiest. It was not the most pleasant of days with s fair breeze blowing.

In Division two most of the field produced a nil return as they struggled to get scores. Ian Mackintosh did finish taking third place with 102-25-77 and with the lowest gross of 87 Les Patrick slipped into second place with figures of 87-13-74. David O'Brien was unaffected by the weather and stormed home in 91-25-66 with a birdie at the 3rd and his best round of the season to win by more than a comfortable margin earning a chop in his handicap. Nice to see David do so well.

In Division One Andy Bain had a nice pair of birdies at the 12th and the 14th in a strong finish and his 83-12-71 was enough for fourth edging out Lee Parnell 76-5-71 on the countback. Third place went to Murdo MacDonald 82-12-70 with a nice birdie at the 8th. Cammie Ross is still maintaining his super vein of good form and with 77-9-68 and a birdie at the 6th he broke par to take second place.

Every now and then a great round comes about for everybody and John O'Brien with 70-5-65 played exceptionally well getting the best scratch score of 70 and bagging no less than 5 birdies. Birdies came at the 1st, 2nd, 6th in a great front nine and at the 13th and 16th on the back nine in a magnificent display of power golf. The O'Brien brothers had a great scoop with John winning Division One and David romping home first in Division Two.
