Club Championship Qualifiers - 10 June 07
Division 1 and 2 Qualifiers now available

There was a great effort and steely determination from quite a number to qualify for the Reay Club Championships in the last of the qualifiers.

In the Scratch section the final eight are headed up by seven times Champion Graeme Dunnett with scores of 75 and 68 for a total of 143. Newcomer Brad Smith and a very strong challenger shot 67, 77 - 144 and lies in second. Colin Paterson another past Champion in 1993 is third with 71, 78 - 149. Itching to get his hands on the title is Lee Parnell with 75; 75 - 150 sharing that score with four times past champion Neil McDonald who has quietly done the business of making the finals and will be a real dark horse for the betting. Another four times title holder is Don Mackay (Jnr) with 76, 76 -152. Grant Maxwell winner of three trophies this summer so far, the last being the Dounreay Trophy is in great form and with 80, 74 - 154 is well worth a bet. The final spot goes to John O'Brien also having a good season having won the April Medal and he qualified with 77, 77 -154 so is not there to make up the numbers. It looks like being a great Championship with everybody capable of claiming the title and the danger man is the unknown quantity Brad Smith who has shot the best score of the season so far with his 67.

In the handicap section the leading qualifier is the young teenager Allyn Sutherland (136) followed by a senior teenager in Murdo MacDonald (140). Steve Efemey claims his place with (140) and Ian Ritchie and Peter McCartney share (141). Andy Bain (142) courtesy of his recent win in the Parsaver Trophy is in the hunt also. Donald Mowat (142) is delighted to make the eight along with Alec Anderson (142).

The Senior section is led by George MacDonald (143) and Fred Groves (145) is in second qualifying spot. Chris Hobson (145) makes it and having won the Handicap Final last year will be a strong contender this year but is disappointed he can't defend his title. Jock Eunson (146) found a score on Saturday to comfortably qualify and Kenny Farmer (147) is a dark horse in this section. Sandy Chisholm (148) and Don Mackay (Snr) 148 fill the spots with Alistair Gunn (150) to make this another tough section where the money can be on anybody.

The Quarter Finals will be played on the 20th June.
