Steady Snapper snatches spoils

It rained virtually all day but thankfully there was no wind to speak off so conditions for golf were not too bad. The CSS was 68 so scoring in the Stableford was reasonably good with the course playing quite easy. Only six birdies with the 17th the hardest hole again claiming a few scalps and the fifth the easiest hole.

Brad Smith (3) is really beginning to get to grips with Links golf and threw in two Birdies at the 5th and the 16th but only managed 32 points. John O'Brien (5) birdied the difficult 7th and also only made 32 points. The young guns in High Tunn (18) and Allyn Sutherland (19) both put in good rounds for 34 points apiece.

Donald Mowat (9) had the highlight of his round at the 15th where he had a birdie two and completed a tidy par round with 36 points to take third place. Grant Maxwell (7) made birdie at the 6th and had a very neat card totalling 38 points to be second. David Mackay (Snapper) playing off 8 was the champion firing in a total of 39 points to take the trophy and had a birdie at the 6th as well.
