The weather could really only be described as shocking but a few Bravehearts still made the field and produced a CSS of 69. Only six birdies, with the 17th the hardest hole to make par and the 6th as the easiest.
Colin Stewart made birdie at the 6th as the highlight of his round and Grant Maxwell was in birdie mood taming the par 5's with birdies at the 6th and the 14th in a generally tidy round. The lowest gross of 80 went to Donald Mowat in fourth place with 80-8-72.
Sandy Chisholm 82-11-71 also made a fine birdie at the 6th which helped him to secure third place. The ever improving teenager Hugh Tunn 86-17-69 had a very steady round in par figures and made a birdie at the 3rd. John Disbury 90-22-68 made a birdie at the 3rd as well and is in pole position ready for the next round on 22nd July leading the way with only a small cushion. A great score for John and the only man to break par.
