Strokeplay Half Way Report - 12 June 07
Gavin continues with a nine shot lead

At the half way stage of the Strokeplay championship there are only 14 players left in the competition who have survived.

In the scratch section the run away leader is Gavin Sutherland with two rounds of 73 giving him an aggregate of 146. Gavin has a nine shot cushion and as long as he can get two more scores in is looking a good favourite for the title of Strokeplay Champion. In second spot is Brad Smith with scores of 76 and 79 for an aggregate 155. Not too far away is Colin Paterson only one shot behind on 156 after rounds of 79 and 77. Grant Maxwell has 157 and Lee Parnell 158.

The race for the nett Champion and the Keoltag Salver also sees Gavin Sutherland in the lead with two 68's and a total of 136. Gavin can't win both so the current leader is Stuart Greig with a 70 and 68 making an aggregate 138 and unlike the scratch section the lead is not so big or comfortable . Lurking away quietly and ready to pounce is the steady Danny O'Hagan with a total 141 and only one shot further back on 142 is Donald Mowat. Grant Maxwell is a further shot adrift on 143 with Alec Anderson and Brad Smith both on 147.

So at the half way stage there is all to play for and with only fourteen left in the hunt nobody can afford to slip up or no return over the next two weeks.
