Summer Cup Round 8/Strokeplay Rnd 3 - 19 June 07
All to play for in final Strokeplay round

With one round to go there is still all to play for and only ten possible winners left. In round three in Division two there were no birdies. This round is also round 8 of the summer cup. David R.Craig got on the podium and the sweep money with third place and 97-23-74. Kenny Farmer had the lowest gross of 88 which he shared with Danny O’Hagan. After the countback Kenny with 88-15-73 took second and with the same score Danny O’Hagan took the top spot and maintains his challenge for the Keoltag Salver.

In Division one Grant Maxwell had a birdie at the 6th and Alan Paul made two birdies at the 13th and 17th in his round of 82-12-70 for third place. The lowest gross went to David Mackay with a 75 and a round of 75-8-67 for second which included birdies at the 10th and the 16th. The hot card belonged to Stuart Greig cracking in three birdies at the 5th, 6th and 16th for 76-12-64 and putting him in the frame for the Keoltag Salver.

His 64 gave Stuart Greig a commanding lead in the race for the Keoltag Salver opening up a lead of 12 shots with an aggregate 201 – 70-68-63. As the first round handicaps count Stuarts 64 becomes a 63. Joint second on an aggregate 213 is Danny O’Hagan and Donald Mowat with Grant Maxwell two shots further back on 215.

In the scratch section Gavin Sutherland fell out being on holiday somewhere in the Med soaking up the sun. The new front runner is Colin Paterson 79-77-75 for a total 231 with a five shot cushion. On his heels is Grant Maxwell on 236 with Stuart Greig and Donald Mowat on 240.
