Duck wins in another close finish

Saturday saw the first of the summer monthly medals at Reay Golf Club with the trend of close finishes continuing. Forty one members turned out with an almost equal split between division one and division two.

The division one section produced 7 birdies and one eagle. First place was a clear win but second place on net 69 had to again be decided by the countback between the next five players.

Evan Sutherland, Alistair Gunn and Jock Eunson, 4th to 6th respectively lost out to Graeme Dunnett in 3rd place and Murray McGlasson in 2nd.

Donald Mowat took the division top spot with the only net par round of 68.

Division two was even closer with 3rd and 4th places, on net 69,being separated by countback, Alex Mackay managing to edge out Peter McCartney. 1st and 2nd were also separated by the countback. With Liam Bremner and David Mowat returning net 66 and a cut in handicap it was David that lost out to Liam on the back nine score. Liam with his net 66 also took the honours by winning the April Medal.
