Mowat comes good for Trophy

With improving weather last week, signalled by a significant drop in the force of the wind, there was a coincidental improvement in many of the scores and number of birdies during Saturday's Parry Trophy.

Half of the field of 42 players returned par +3 or better.

Also by coincidence the top scores were not decided by countback which seemed to be trending as the norm.

So, revelling in the warmer and calmer conditions but with only one birdie between them the top four places went to, in fourth place Steve Efemey on net 68, in third place Ian Ritchie on net 67 and a reduction in handicap, in second place David Mackay on net 66 and coming good for the Parry Trophy with a net 64, reduction in handicap and the grandstand finish of a birdie 2 at the 18th was David J Mowat.
