Birdie, Eagle and Duck secure it for Brad & Liam

The Reay Gala Open was held on Sunday in unexpected dry and warm conditions, the weather forecasts early in the week predicted rain.

With a good turnout from across the County it was the Reay players that dominated the top positions in both handicap divisions but it was Thurso's, Brent Munro that managed to return the lowest gross score of 75.

In Division 1 Alex MacKay took 3rd place 88(17)71 but, once again, the 2nd and 1st places were only separated by the inward half scores with Hugh Tunn 86(16)70 being beaten into 2nd by Liam Bremner 92(22)70.

Division 1 was somewhat closer with the top 3 places being decided on countback and birdies making the difference.

In 3rd place was John Nicolson 77(7)70 to 2nd place Alistair Gunn (78(8)70 with 2 birdies but 1st was taken by Brad Smith 76(6)70 with a birdie at the 3rd and an eagle at the 14th.
