Mens Tournaments - Season 2010-2011
Parry Trophy - 19 June 10
Saturday saw a strong contingent of Reay members challenging for the Parry Trophy. And as has happened on several occasions this year the relatively benign conditions seemed to becalm one and all.
Just five players managed to play within a couple of their handicap, four of whom had net 71s; namely Ian Ritchie, Bob Earnshaw, John O'Brien and Lee Parnell. And with the aide of some computer modelling, a slide rule and spinning bottle Lee Parnell and John O'Brien took second and third place respectively.
Adding the Parry Trophy to his already overflowing trophy cabinet was Graeme Dunnett. Out in a steady 37 strokes, Graeme turned on the style around the turn with a veritable aviary of birdies at the 9th, 10th and 12th holes. This gave Graeme an inward half of 35 and total of 72 net 68; the only man to play better than his handicap on the day.
