Alan finds good form to win trophy

The Sangster clan enjoyed more success in Sunday's, Comm Bar Open when Jim turned in Thurso's lowest round of the season to date and Peter broke 80 to earn yet another handicap cut to eleven.

Jim's round of 67, two under par, contained three birdies, at the fourth twelfth and sixteenth and an eagle two at the eighth. This earned him top scratch award by four shots from Doug Thorburn.

The day's top returns belonged to Alan Kennedy and Ian Macphee with nett 64's, the trophy going to Kennedy on countback.

Keith Dreaves was in the frame again, his nett 67 gaining third place in the higher handicap category.

Lachie Sutherland was the clear winner of the lower handicap category with a fine nett 65, two clear of the junior Sangster with Brent Munro a further shot back.

Rebecca Meiklejohn produced a very good nett 72 to claim the Ladies award by three shots from Ann Youngson.
