Sangster lifts Nett and Walter holds on for handicap win

A repeat of Saturday's score proved lucrative for Sangster in Sunday's Rotary Open as he landed the scratch award by a shot from club mate Doug Thorburn but the best nett returns of the day would have cheered the junior section as the winner was new junior coach, Jack McCracken who beat junior member, Allyn Sutherland by half a shot on count back after both returned nett 67's.

McCracken and Sutherland filled the top two places in the higher handicap category with third place going to the Club's other ‘WJ', Billy Sutherland, with a nett 68.

Walter Rutherford did not allow a triple bogey at the sixteenth to put him off and played the last two holes in par to record a nett 69 to win the lower handicap section by a shot from Reay's, Richard Macdonald.

Sandy Stewart, like Macdonald, a seven handicap player, had a shot more in an outward 39 and had to settle for third place in the category.

Angela Williamson was the Ladies winner with a nett 79, beating club mate Alison Campbell by a few shots.
