Farquhar wins final round but 'King o' Kings' is overall winner
Thurso's senior group, the EGGS, were lucky not to have any postponements in the last couple of weeks although conditions have been fairly demanding.
Donald Farquhar won the final round of the Summer Eclectic with a very good total of 37 points, three ahead of Sandy Reid.
There were no changes to the overall leader board so Les King emerged as winner with a nett 50, one ahead of Jim Johnston, with Billy Hossack and Sandy Reid two shots further back.

Manson wins by a point
The seniors were lucky enough to get a game on Tuesday but found the heavy conditions and a good breeze tough going.
Ian Manson, Jim Johnston and Ronnie Williamson had the best outward nines of 17 points with Manson only a point worse on the way in for a winning total of 33 points, beating Johnston by a point and George Mitchell by three.
There were no significant changes to the overall eclectic scores so Les King remains a point in front of Johnston with two rounds remaining.

EGGS Summer Eclectic 4 - 28 July 09
Jackers beats wind and the rest
Windy conditions prevailed for the latest round of the EGGS Summer Eclectic on Tuesday but they did not put Donald Jack off as he went to the turn in one under par with birdies at the fourth and ninth holes. Ron Ritchie was second on 35 points, three ahead of Jim Hawthorn.

Birthday boy David gets extra cake
Most golfers would agree that a round of golf in perfect conditions would be a good way to celebrate a birthday. David Warren certainly did, especially as he won the competition into the bargain.
Warren's 39 point return in the third round of the EGGS Summer Eclectic was two better than Jim Masson with Ron Ritchie and Pat Valentine a further point back.
EGGS Summer Eclectic 2 - 14 July 09
