Michael gets things going this week

Michael Macgregor was top scorer in the Newsbeat Summer League last week with 41 points in the Wednesday session.

MacGregor, now a 10 handicap player, was only one over par at the turn for 22 points and kept his score going nicely on the way in to win by four points from Jason Simpson, Kevin Morris and Walter Rutherford who finished in that order after count back.

Young Greg McEwan continued his winning way the following day with a very good 39 point haul, 22 of those on the front nine.

Mark Mackay saved his best for the back nine when 21 points got him into second position on 38 points, one ahead of Gary Calder.

Current leader Bryan Ronald remains the only player with an average of over 36 points for his best eight rounds.
