Summer League 20 - 26/27 August 09
'e Capital lads win on both days

Ronald may have lost out in the Challenge Shield but he is definitely going to be very hard to beat in the Newsbeat Summer League.

He improved his total by three points after a fine 37 point round on Wednesday and now leads by nine points with two rounds remaining.

Michael MacGregor was the winner on Wednesday with 39 points and is now in fourth place overall.

Malcolm Morrison was a point behind the winner with Ronald claiming third place on count back from Trevor Henderson.

Top score of the week belonged to Peter Sangster. This talented young player had a gross 68, his best ever round over his home course, for a winning total of 41 points. Sangster was out in 32 shots, two under par, with birdies at the second and fourth holes. He faltered immediately after the turn with a double bogey at the tenth followed by a bogey at the eleventh but showed his quality by completing the remaining seven holes in one under par with a further birdie at the thirteenth.

It was a good day for second placed Walter Rutherford who was second with 38 points, as he improved his nine round aggregate by four points and now shares second place with Nicky Doherty.

Sandy Stewart, out in level par, was third with 37 points, one ahead of Jim Sangster and Alan Swanson.
