Summer League 8 - 03/04 June 09
Bryan keeps piling the pressure on the rest

Bryan Ronald is the pace setter in the Newsbeat Summer League. After some steady scores he upped the pace on Wednesday for 41 points, an excellent return for the three handicap player. He needed count back to win though, as another junior player, Shaun Fraser, had the same total.

On a day of very good scoring Paul O'Rourke and Malcolm Morrison came close with 40 points and Hamish Boyd (39), Greg McEwan (38) and Michael MacGregor (37) all beat the 36 point mark.

Dave Lyall had his best ever outward nine of two over par 37 for 25 points and a more typical inward nine of 15 to claim first place with a total of 40 points on Thursday.

Fellow senior Jim Buchan saw off the challenge of youngsters Stephen Spargo and Peter Knight on count back after all scored 38 points.

Gavin Souter, Nicky Doherty and Ewan Mackenzie finished a further point back.
