Senior Tournaments - Season 2009-2010

Thor Fishing Seniors Open - 08 July 09
Donald held it together to win title

Visitors also featured well on this year's Senior Open but the trophy went to the home club's Jim Johnston with a fine total of 38 points in windy conditions.

An unwelcome feature on the winner's card was a blank score at the closing hole of each nine but 19 points for each showed how well he played otherwise.

Bob Earnshaw (Reay) took first place in the lower handicap category with 37 points with 22 of those coming from a fine inward nine.

Ronnie Gray was a point further back in second place in this category, one ahead of third placed John Davies (Golspie) who beat Thurso's Ian Manson on count back.

Alf Williamson also had 37 points to win second place in the higher handicap category.

Brora's, Bernard Ledwith enjoyed his first success in open competitions by beating Joe Duffy (Thurso) into third place on count back after both scored 35 points.

The scratch award went to former Thurso club champion, Donald Jack.
