Mens Tournaments - Season 2010-2011
Comm Bar Open - 09 May 10

Keith Dreaves has come close to winning on a few occasions this season and finally made the break through on Sunday when he won the Comm Bar Open sponsored by Scott Youngson.
It didn't come easy though as he needed count back after he and Ronnie Gray both returned nett 66's.
Gray matched par at every hole on the way out but sixes at the fifteenth and sixteenth holes proved costly as Dreaves kept his composure over the closing stretch.
In addition to the Comm Bar trophy, Dreaves also won the higher handicap section by six shots from Sid Campbell and Reay's Andy Swan.
For his part, Gray won the lower handicap category by three shots from regular visitor John O'Brien (Reay) and former Thurso captain Pat Valentine.
For once, Thorburn did not win the scratch award as his 70 was second best to course record holder Jim Sangster who shot a fine 68 to make it a good weekend for the Sangster family.
Sangster scored 34 for both nines and had five birdies in his round. Thorburn was two over par for the front nine and one under on the way in.
There was a fine performance by Moira MacBeath with a nett 69, two under par, to take the ladies prize. MacBeath recently won the April Medal and has shown that she can handle demanding conditions.
