Summer League 19 - 19 August 10

Wednesday night play in Round 19 of the Newsbeat Summer League saw some good scoring with Steve Grogan coming out on top with 39 points. Despite only having 7 points after 5 holes he hit a purple patch to get to the turn in 18 points and continued this form on the back nine to come home in 21 points.

In second place, and moving himself up the leaderboard from 10th to 8th, was Bryan Ronald with 38 points.

Countback was required to separate five players finishing on 37 points with the order being decided as Donald Sutherland, Angus Cameron, Harvey Cowe, Jim Macleod and Trevor Henderson.

Thursday night play saw the continuation of a great week for Frazer Sparling as he followed up his Thurso Open win by winning for the second consecutive week in the summer league with 39 points. This sees him move into joint second in the overall placings with Jason Simpson, 4 points behind leader Graeme Henderson.

In second place on the night was Innes Mitchell on 37 points, beating Ronnie Matheson countback.

Alan Swanson came out on top of a group on 36 points to move up the overall places from 9th to 6th.

Also scoring 36 points were Dougie Thorburn, Bob Robertson, Davie Irvine, Stuart Bell and Stephen Williamson.
