Two trophies were on offer at Thurso Golf Club at the weekend. One was played over 13 holes and the other on the thirteenth of June.

The early starters were the lucky ones in the Duke of York Salver played over 13 holes on Friday as the weather deteriorated drastically for the later starters.

Nicky Doherty birdied the eighth on his way to the turn for 20 points and added a further birdie at the closing hole for a winning total of 29 points.

Mick Ross also had 20 points on his outward nine and they earned him second place from Walter Rutherford after they both returned 27 points.
