Kirsty Irons out all her opponents - 26/10/02

The final of the second Station Tankard of the season was a repeat performance of the first but Kirsty Irons had the upper-hand in this final. Brian managed to get pretty well back into the game in the first set but the constant pressure of Kirsty only having to get a few points, made it very difficult and she lifted the title with a good lead.
The oldest player on the day, Fred Groves, was matched against the youngest player, Craig Gardner - in the Plate final - and the more experienced master managed to lift the spoils.

Brian wins first Station title - 18/01/03

Thurso recently staged the first of its popular handicap tournaments for the Station Hotel Tankard.
This event is played in one afternoon with the first 16 names on the sheet taking part.
The consolation tankard, for first round losers, went to Linda Sinclair, who beat youngster Craig Gardner in a tight match.
In the main event Kirsty Irons won her semi-final against Neil Mackay and, in the other half of the draw, Brian Farmer defeated Donald Pollard. The final was very close but Brian squezzed through to lift the title for the first time.
