Veterans & Junior Championships - Season 2003-2004 - 27&28/03/04

Welsh dragon, Gareth Edwards played in his first tournament since arriving in Caithness and lifted the veterans' title. The welsh debutant fire fighter is an enthusiastic squash player who could probably put a fire out with the sweat that comes from his t-shirts but can also play a decent game of squash, as he proved to the plus 45 lads, at this tournament.

John Georgeson was the first winner of a new junior trophy donated to Thurso Squash Club by RMC (Risk Management Consultants) by beating Ewan Scott in the final of the Under 14 competiton. Richard Sharp, RMC rep and squash club member is seen presenting the trophy (picture below).

John was also the runner-up to Louis Morrill in a tight final of the main junior trophy, proving that this young lad is beginning to stamp his authority on the older players, which is encouraging for the future.

In the Girls final, Donna Sinclair continued to dominate in this tournament and lifted the title by beating Louise Campbell in the final.
