Cups go to Thurso... - 19/02/05 - (AWAY)

Wick put together a strong team in the second leg of the Thurso v Wick Inter-County match to try and thwart their long time stalwarts from taking the trophies back to the North of Scotland.

The 'A' Team final result reflected that there is an onslaught of Wick players on their way up, playing some excellent squash and have the fitness to provide the goods on the day. With this in mind, the match ended in a draw but the overall score gave Thurso the title.

Wick were never going to lift the trophy in the 'B' match as Thurso had pulled away with an 8-0 drubbing in the opening game but they put up a good fight, pushed the Thurso bhoys and if they had had a group of Ladies, might have had a chance to win on the day.

Thank you to Wick for their excellent hospitality, entertainment and as I understand the police in Wick are a very caring bunch and take care of their own, well......................
