Jamie bounces round court to win - 15/01/07

Thurso Squash Club's Juniors showed the way into the competitive new year with the Junior Handicap which is generously sponsored by Precision Blinds Ltd.

A good entry of 18 players on handicaps ranging from -15 to +8 battled through some very close tussles with several matches being decided on the very last point.

In the plate competition for first round losers semi-finalists were Scott Kelman, Garry Mann, Struan Mackie and Jordon Farmer. Scott and Jordon edged their way into the final which Jordon won by a single point.

In the main competition the semi-finalists were arguably the club's top four Thurso-based Juniors despite the efforts of the handicappers. In the first semi-final Martin Gunn and Scott Davidson had their usual close battle with Scott squeezing through after some very powerful rallies. The other semi matched the two lowest handicaps of Sean Miller and Jamie Henderson. This was another intriguing match of high quality: Jamie used his three point handicap advantage to win out in three games. The final also went to one game all but it was Jamie who toughed out the long rallies and produced the telling winners to win the trophy.
