Highlands & Islands Championships, Wick - Season 2009-2010 - 20&21/03/10

Wick Squash Club recently hosted a very successful and enjoyable Highlands and Islands Squash Championships.

Players travelled from Fort William, Mallaig, Inverness, Forres, Thurso and Kirkwall Clubs to compete in the Mens and Ladies Tournaments.

An extremely high level of squash was played in a very friendly and sporting manner, it was a credit to all concerned.

The tournament was graced with entries from eight times previous winner (initially in 1981) and Highlands & Islands Squash Association Chairman, David Taylor from Forres who presented the trophies, and Robin Hamill who has coached and developed the fantastic group of Inverness Juniors to International level, as well as coaching both of this years Mens Finalists to the incredible standard they have now achieved.

It was great to see these stalwarts of the sport still competing in the top tournament in the region.
