Alan stays on Top for last three months to win title

Alan Scott produced the goods throughout an entire 12 month spell to win the 2006-2007 Thurso Mortgage Shop League trophy.

The new winner had secured the title with a couple of months to spare leaving the rest of the pack to battle for the other spoils.

Andy Smith pulled away with one month left giving him second spot but third position went to the very last day of the league season.

Unfortunately, prime candidates for third spot, Dougie Wright or Donald Buchannan suffered rugby injuries and were unable to play any games in the final month.  It was even more hurting for Donald, in his debut year at the club, as he only required 2 points to win this final position (3rd spot).

Carole Mowat was unaware of her points total and decided not to play her final league match.....!!!  If only she had, as like Donald, 2 points would've given her 3rd place.

Chris Ambrose proved to be the 'tortoise' of this years event by accumulating just enough points in the early months but finished the last few strongly.  He gained 2 points in his very last game of the season and although he lost the game, the points proved vital to secure third spot.

Congratulations to Alan and hope he comes out of his current injury problems to defend his title.
