Thurso Mortgage Shop League Trophy - Season 2007-2008
Dougie comes back and wins league title

It is a monumental task to try and win the Thurso Squash Club League Trophy sponsored by I&D Pollard Mortgage Shop, as it spans over 12 months with health, consistency and stamina being the key ingredients for a successful applicant.
So, for the eventual winner to re-join the leagues just after a serious back injury - with original hopes just to make it to the next few months and continue in some shape or form, in a sport that he enjoys, was excellent.
For Dougie Sinclair, one of the clubs longest serving members, life out with the squash zone was not enough and he gathered his thoughts to 'give it a go', once again.
Continuing to climb the squash league ladders, gathering points on his ascendancy, it became apparent that he was in with a chance for the title with a few months to go. Only the chasing pack of Malcolm Lord and Donald Buchanan grappling at his heels would thwart his chances.
This was never to be and Dougie reached the pinnacle with a good number of points to spare in the last month, for a worthy win.
Dougie commented, "This season ranked highly in all of my squash achievements and am delighted to be back in the fold".
Not to take anything away from Donald or Malcolm as they both ended as joint runners-up from 55-65 players.
This is only Donald's second year at the club and in the previous season just missed out on a prize due to injury in the last month.
Malcolm was also delighted to be in amongst the spoils as he is committed to the Pentland Firth Yachting Club at various times of the year.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and as this is the start of the new season, Thurso Squash Club is always looking for new members. Come and have a go.
